Avenue B Grocery & Market is Austin’s oldest continuously-operated grocery store. This grocery & market has been around since 1909 and has nostalgic atmosphere to prove it.
The current owner, Ross Mason, has run the place for more than two decades, dishing out sandwiches to locals. This gem sells everything from classic sandwiches, to tiny airplanes and toiletries.
Avenue B was built in 1909 in the historic Hyde Park in Austin, Texas. A rebrand that kept the iconic relics and original tin signage were essential. Lao Mn & Avenir Heavy, along with a new take on a traditional color palette allow a modern play on the classic Americana displays.
Avenue B Grocery is truly local, and now has a cohesive identity that allows their building and their relics to play together.
It is one of those stores that, from tiny spaces, manage to serve up everything you could possibly want, from toiletries to fresh produce to toy airplanes. Avenue B will now have a cohesive identity from the take away bags, to the coffee mugs for sale. Customers are not only coming here for a classic sandwich but also to say they stopped into an Austin Orginal.
